Work Package 10 - Software and databases for probabilistic assessmentObjective: Establish criteria for evaluating the suitability of software and databases for probabilistic assessments, and evaluate available examples for possible adoption in the EU. Adoption of standard software and databases would greatly facilitate the adoption of probabilistic methods by end-users, but these tools need to be appropriate for users in all parts of the expanding EU. This work package developed a list of criteria for evaluating the suitability of software and databases for probabilistic assessment. It organised a workshop in June 2003 to evaluate existing examples of relevant software and database, including some from North America, and identified the most promising ones as a basis for further development.
