Work Package 12 - End-user testing

Objective: Coordinate practical testing of the framework by end-users to ensure suitability for harmonised use.

The main output of EUFRAM Work Packages 3-11 will be a framework of basic principles for probabilistic assessment of pesticide risks, in the form of a guidance document and worked examples for use by risk assessors in government and industry. The first public draft will be completed in December 2004.

The draft guidance will then be subjected to end-user testing, coordinated by Work Package 11. This will comprise:

• three workshops for end-users from government, industry and academia, in December 2004, October 2005 and July 2006
• intervening periods during which the end-users try using the draft guidance in their own work, and provide feedback to the project
• opportunities for other end-users to test the draft guidance and provide feedback
• specific activities by project members to evaluate particular aspects of the draft guidance.

Feedback from the end-user testing will be used to produce improved versions of the guidance document.
