Work Package 4 - Methods of uncertainty analysisObjective: Develop guidance on methods of uncertainty analysis for pesticide risks, including key principles of best practice, suitable for adoption in the EU. Uncertainty analysis is a key component of probabilistic risk assessment. There are many competing approaches, with different advantages and disadvantages, but no consensus yet on which approaches are most appropriate for pesticide assessments. This work package is reviewing possible approaches and assessing their applicability for regulatory assessment of pesticides in the EU. It is coordinating activities to test different approaches in case studies (Work Package 8) and other research. The results will be used to develop guidance on the selection and use of uncertainty analysis methods for pesticide assessment in the EU.
